Thomas E. Kelly is the founder/producer of Snakebite Entertainment Company of Los Angeles, California. He is an acclaimed, award-winning American writer who has written most of his life. His first book was a children’s story called “The Fox and The Young Rooster.” He then went on to write his second and third books of poetry, entitled “Sonnets for Caitlin” and “Sonnets for Friends & Lovers.” However, it was Thomas’ fourth book, a western, (SNAKEBITE ENTERTAINMENT), that he found his passion for screenwriting. That’s when he met Michael Preece, a well-known film & television series director/producer (Walker, Texas Ranger, 7th Heaven, Dallas, MacGyver and Baywatch). He has directed numerous television movies as well.
Thomas and Michael became fast friends; Michael mentored Thomas and taught him to become an established screenwriter. In his novel (SNAKEBITE ENTERTAINMENT), Thomas created many intriguing western characters and other stories, which turned into a successful series surrounding his main character, “James Walker.”
Inspired by the stories his great-grandmother would tell him about the Old West and the famous people she had met, Thomas became an avid reader of Western American history and developed a love for Native American people. Therefore, it became important for Thomas to base his stories on real people and real historical events.
From 1778 to 1871, the United States government entered into more than 500 treaties with Native American tribes, most of which were violated by both parties. Thomas’s knowledge of our American history and his study of a number of Native American tribes, such as the Apache, Dakota, Chippewa, Cheyenne, Arapaho, Comanche, and Kiowa, make his stories come to life. His life’s work is to keep the “Old West” alive in our hearts, never forgetting our history. In the last twenty years, he has written over 70 screenplays in the western, horror/thriller, sci-fi, and suspense drama genres.
In 2023, Thomas became a partner with Julie Campbell, producer of Longhorn Film Productions. Together they will produce his amazing screenplays into independent films and/or original television series.

The Thomas E. Kelly “Collection” consists of over 30 original Western screenplays set during the 1800s. His passion and historical knowledge bring each of these wonderful stories to life.
